Dropsolid AI, a spin-off from Ghent-based Dropsolid, has secured 2.5 million euros in funding to accelerate its European expansion and offer a transparent alternative to closed AI systems.
The company aims to address challenges faced by European organizations, including fragmented knowledge and limited control over AI platforms, by providing an open, sovereign solution.
The firm specializes in integrating AI into existing digital channels such as websites, content platforms, and marketing tools.
Its technology, built on the open-source Drupal platform, enables businesses to manage workflows, data, and applications without relying on external vendors.
CEO Dominique De Cooman highlights the company’s ‘glass box’ approach, which prioritizes transparency and control, allowing organizations to retain full ownership of their data and processes.
The funding round, supported by private investors, crowdfunding, and credit lines, also saw active participation from the company’s management and employees. These resources will drive both technological innovation and commercial growth across Europe, reinforcing the region’s push for AI independence.
