Belgian-Dutch media group DPG Media has acquired Mood for Magazines from Talpa Network. Mood for Magazines publishes the lifestyle titles LINDA. and LINDA.meiden.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
LINDA. reaches more than 134,000 readers per edition and has around 70,000 subscribers. The sale follows Talpa Network’s decision to look for a new owner for the magazine brand.
Media personality Linda de Mol will remain closely involved with LINDA. and its current editorial team.
DPG Media said the magazine market is under heavy pressure, as digitalization of media consumption continues to weigh on paid circulation. Even strong brands such as LINDA. are affected, the company noted. By integrating the titles with DPG Media’s wider portfolio and investing jointly in IT, marketing and support services, the group sees opportunities to strengthen the editorial offering and accelerate the digital future of LINDA.
Mood for Magazines was acquired by Talpa in 2019 from Sanoma, with the purchase price at the time estimated at around 40 million euros. Back then, the publisher generated revenues of 27 million euros and an operating profit of 6 million euros.
