UK-based Years, the pioneer of Cupboard Fresh® dog food, has secured a growth investment from Verlinvest and Five Seasons Ventures to accelerate its mission of redefining pet nutrition.
Founded in 2023 by Darren Beale and Ivan Barashki, Years leverages proprietary technology to deliver fresh, minimally processed meals with an 18-month ambient shelf life, combining veterinary-backed nutrition with unmatched convenience.
This partnership will fuel the brand’s expansion across Europe and retail channels, meeting rising demand for premium, health-focused pet food.
A new standard in pet food
Years’ Cupboard Fresh® technology eliminates the need for freezing or cold-chain logistics, offering personalized, chef-cooked meals tailored to a dog’s age, weight, and nutritional needs.
Since its launch, the company has delivered over 12 million meals, with 66 percent of its subscribers transitioning from traditional kibble or wet food. The brand’s recent partnership with Pets at Home has already expanded its reach to 460+ UK stores, marking a significant step in its omnichannel strategy.
Investors back a category definer
Verlinvest and Five Seasons Ventures, both with deep expertise in the pet sector, will join Years’ board to support its international growth. Ben Black (Verlinvest) highlights the brand’s potential to “unlock more Years with our pets” by making fresh, nutritionally complete food accessible at scale.
Ivan Farneti (Five Seasons Ventures) adds that Years represents “the next evolution of pet nutrition”, merging the benefits of fresh food with the convenience of ambient storage.
