Ditar secures 1.4 million euros to expand AI-powered Optisuite platform for opticians

Brussels-based Ditar, the developer of the Optisuite consultation platform for opticians, has raised 1.4 million euros in seed funding led by ScaleFund, with participation from SeederFund, imec.istart, and Invest BW.

The investment will fuel international expansion, particularly in the U.S. market, while advancing AI-driven features to enhance the platform’s capabilities.

Optisuite is a tablet-based consultation tool designed to streamline in-store eyewear consultations. Acting as a digital assistant for opticians, the platform helps structure and visualize customer conversations around frames, lenses, pricing, and product recommendations.

Early adopters have reported up to three times higher conversion rates for premium lenses, a 20 percent increase in glasses sold per customer, and a reduction in consultation time from 45 to 30 minutes.

"The optical retail sector remains heavily under-digitalized, with commercial performance still largely dependent on in-store expertise", said Paul Risopoulos, Principal at ScaleFund.

"Optisuite directly addresses this gap. The early results speak for themselves, but what truly convinced us was the strength of the founding team. We’re excited to support them in this next phase of growth."

With this funding, Ditar aims to accelerate its global expansion, strengthen its product and commercial teams, and continue developing AI-powered innovations to transform the optician industry.
