Belgian data intelligence group Datasharp has acquired Woosmap, a leading French location-intelligence platform.
The deal strengthens Datasharp’s data infrastructure ambitions and underlines Belgium’s growing position as a European hub for data-driven technologies in the AI era.
Founded in 2009 in Montpellier by GIS experts Mathias Fliti and Jean-Thomas Rouzin, Woosmap has become one of Europe’s most advanced location-intelligence solutions.
Its API suite spans address search and autocomplete, geocoding, vector maps, routing, geofencing and even indoor navigation.
A key differentiator is its strict privacy-first approach, collecting no personal end-user data and ensuring full GDPR compliance, a stance that appeals to enterprises seeking full control over their location data.
For Datasharp, created by Antoine Bruyns and Didier Baclin and backed by Strada Partners, the acquisition is a strategic step in consolidating Europe’s fragmented data market. The group, which also includes Infobel and Techsalerator, aims to build a reliable business-data backbone for AI systems and enterprise applications.
“Location intelligence is becoming a foundational layer for enterprise AI”, says Datasharp CEO Antoine Bruyns. “With Woosmap, we combine our business data infrastructure with world-class geolocation capabilities and accelerate our ambition to build an integrated data platform for the next generation of AI applications.”
Woosmap will continue operating as an independent brand within the group, with CEO Jean-Thomas Rouzin remaining at the helm.
