Belgian bicycle leasing specialist Cyclis Bike Lease is expanding its operations with the acquisition of the entire bike leasing portfolio of VDW Lease, based in Aartselaar.
The transfer, covering several thousand contracts, will take effect on 1 February 2026.
VDW Lease was founded in 2021 by Beerens Groep and was later integrated into Belcar Lease Solutions, which has now decided to divest its bicycle leasing activities. The existing Belcar team will remain within the group and continue to work on its other leasing services.
According to Beerens Groep CEO Erwin Beerens, Cyclis was chosen for its customer-focused and innovative approach, including its personalised service and recently launched mobile app.
With the acquisition, Cyclis further strengthens its position as market leader in bicycle leasing. Founded in 2014, the company welcomed Germany’s JobRad Group as a strategic partner in 2024 and has built a strong local presence through a network of around 3,000 bike dealers in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Cyclis CEO Joep Kempen said the deal goes beyond scale, describing it as part of a broader ambition to promote stress-free commuting and sustainable mobility. For VDW Lease customers, Cyclis says service continuity will be fully ensured.
Cyclis Bike Lease employs more than 50 people, supports over 45,000 cyclists on a daily basis and generates annual revenues of around 75 million euros.
