Belgium’s Construx Group, a specialist in formwork systems for contractors and precast manufacturers, has acquired French company CBE, the global leader in moulds for precast concrete tunnel segments.
Founded in 2003 in Hulste near Harelbeke, Construx has grown into an international player with nine production sites across Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Romania. The company employs 380 staff and posted revenues of €74 million in 2024. With CBE’s addition—310 employees and €28 million turnover—Construx surpasses €100 million in sales and expands its workforce to nearly 700.
CBE brings a strong track record, having supplied moulds for iconic infrastructure such as the Channel Tunnel. The deal also gives Construx access to Acimex, CBE’s subsidiary specializing in heavy lifting technology, opening new markets and technical capabilities.
This acquisition follows Construx’s 2023 takeover of Germany’s Weckenmann, cementing its position as a global reference in formwork, machinery and installations for precast concrete. Together, Construx’s divisions now hold leading or second positions worldwide in their respective niches.
Still owned by its founders and management, the West Flanders-based group signals further international ambitions, with growth in the US, Canada and New Zealand already underway.
