Belgium’s Construx Group has acquired France’s CBE Group, strengthening its global leadership in moulds and carousel systems for precast tunnel segments.
Construx Group, the Belgian specialist in formwork systems for contractors and precast manufacturers, has completed the acquisition of French-based CBE Group, the world leader in moulds and carousel systems for producing precast concrete tunnel segments. The deal also includes CBE’s sister company Acimex, a specialist in heavy lifting technologies using vacuum systems.
Founded in 2003, Construx has grown into a global reference in moulds, machinery and production lines for the precast concrete industry, operating nine production sites across Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Romania. The acquisition follows its 2023 purchase of German automation specialist Weckenmann and further expands its capabilities and market reach.
CBE Group, headquartered in Saint-Avertin, achieved €28 million in turnover in 2024 with 310 employees. Its flagship projects include moulds for the Channel Tunnel’s concrete segments. With production facilities in France and China, CBE adds expertise in segmental formwork and access to Asian growth markets.
The combined Construx–Weckenmann–CBE–Acimex group will have around 700 employees and a consolidated turnover of approximately €100 million. The brands will retain their identities while collaborating to leverage synergies in innovation, product development and international expansion.
Construx remains fully owned by its founders and management team. Co-owner Julien Travers will become CEO of CBE and its subsidiaries. The group signals further acquisitions and investments are likely as part of its growth strategy.
