Cobepa has announced a new partnership with Prosol, France’s leading ultra-fresh food specialist, alongside Apollo Funds, the company’s founder, and its management team.
Founded in 1992, Prosol has built a unique, vertically integrated model, sourcing directly from a vast network of producers to supply high-quality fresh products – including fruit, vegetables, dairy, seafood, and meat – through its own retail networks.
Prosol’s producer-to-store model operates as a dedicated infrastructure for freshness, leveraging long-term producer partnerships, in-house expertise in product enhancement, proprietary facilities, and a high-performance logistics network.
The company distributes its products through nearly 450 stores under banners like Grand Frais, fresh., mon-marché.fr, and Banco Fresco, primarily in France, alongside a growing online presence. Its focus on freshness, quality, traceability, and in-store experience serves millions of customers annually, promoting better eating habits.
With this investment, Cobepa – a Brussels and New York-based private equity firm with over 5.5 billion euros in net assets – will support Prosol’s next growth phase, expanding its distinctive retail concept to more customers.
Cobepa’s long-term, flexible investment approach aligns with its commitment to sustainable business models, trust, and integrity, reinforcing Prosol’s position as a leader in the ultra-fresh food sector.
