Belgian industrial hygiene and cleaning solutions specialist Christeyns has accelerated its international growth strategy with two new acquisitions in Europe and Africa.
The company has secured majority stakes in Finland’s Kemvit Oy and South Africa’s Orlichem (Pty) Ltd, collectively generating over 10 million euros in revenue.
These deals mark a significant milestone, as Christeyns now operates production facilities on every continent.
The acquisition of Kemvit, a Finnish manufacturer of cleaning and hygiene products for professional kitchens, cleaning companies, laundries, and the food and metal industries, aims to bolster Christeyns’ presence in Northern Europe.
Approximately 20 percent of Kemvit’s output is exported to nine countries. Christeyns CEO Alain Bostoen highlighted the strategic value of the deal: “This investment strengthens our Professional Hygiene division and expands our footprint in Scandinavia, where local production is key to overcoming logistical and import challenges.”
In South Africa, Christeyns has acquired a majority stake in Orlichem, a producer of industrial cleaning and hygiene products with facilities in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Founded in 2008 by Ryszard and Beverley Orlik, Orlichem serves diverse sectors, including hospitality, industry, maritime, and institutional clients across South Africa, with additional exports to Angola, Namibia, Congo, Ghana, Gabon, and Mozambique.
The agreement, finalized on February 23, 2026, and effective March 1, 2026, establishes Christeyns’ first production base in Africa, further diversifying its global manufacturing network.
With these acquisitions, Christeyns reinforces its commitment to expanding its market reach and solidifying its leadership in professional hygiene solutions worldwide. The moves align with the company’s long-term vision to enhance local production capabilities and better serve regional markets.
