Confiserie Geldhof, which makes the famous Ghent neuzekes, is taken over.
VRT reports this.
The Brussels family business Joris Sweets from Sint-Agatha-Berchem takes over the Confiserie Geldhof. The production of the famous Ghent neuzekes will remain on the site in Eeklo and will therefore not move to Sint-Agatha-Berchem.
Confectionery Joris is a monument in the history of Belgian confectionery. A Belgian family business founded in 1938 in the shadow of Brussels. Which has been following the same principles from the start for four generations: offering chocolates of excellent quality with respect for tradition and production, which at the time was still completely manual and based on the best quality ingredients.
The takeover brings new knowledge. "Compare it with bolognese sauce. Every family has its own recipe, everyone can make bolognese sauce, but the one from home is the best," says Diederik Van den Driessche. Managing Director of Joris Sweets on VRT. "The expertise and passion of the Geldhof family now come to us and the noses remain in Belgium."
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
