International equipment distributor BIA Group has announced the acquisition of BPM Construction, a leading French distributor serving the construction and extractive industries.
The deal was announced on 5 January 2026. This move marks a significant step in BIA Group’s strategy to reinforce its presence in Europe while combining international scale with strong local expertise.
BIA Group operates globally in the distribution of equipment for construction, mining, quarrying, energy, transport and recycling. With more than 120 years of history, the group is a long-standing distributor of major brands such as Komatsu and Metso, with operations in Belgium, Luxembourg and over 15 African countries.
Its offering is complemented by extensive after-sales services, including maintenance, genuine parts supply, large-scale project support, technical training, reconditioning programs, telematics solutions and fleet management.
BPM Construction, formerly known as SAMI TP, employs over 100 people across six strategic locations in France, including Nantes, Rennes and Bordeaux. The company distributes brands such as Komatsu, Metso and Kiverco, and is recognized for its strong local technical support.
Its integration into BIA Group is expected to broaden the range of innovative solutions available to French customers while ensuring continued proximity and service quality.
Romain Bia, CEO of BIA Group, said the acquisition aligns with the group’s long-term vision to grow its European operations and deepen partnerships with key manufacturers.
Frédéric Hermant, Managing Director of BPM Construction, highlighted that joining BIA Group would allow customers to benefit from both local field expertise and the resources of an international group.
Commenting on the transaction, Tadashi Maeda, CEO and Managing Director of Komatsu Europe, said the change represents an important step in Komatsu’s European strategy, bringing together two complementary partners to further enhance commercial and after-sales support for customers in France.
