The Belgian family invests in sustainable and conscious consumption.
Korys, the investment company of the Belgian Colruyt family, has become an investor in the Dutch company Schulp Vruchtensappen, based in the village of Ommeren in the province of Utrecht. Financial details have not been disclosed—neither the amount of the investment nor the size of the stake Korys is acquiring. However, it is known that Korys is taking a majority stake.
Albert Schulp, who has led the juice company for thirty years, will retain a significant interest in the business, which is more than 150 years old.
The Colruyt family is considerably larger and operates the namesake supermarket chain in Belgium. The company has been family-owned and -run for a century, with an annual turnover of around ten billion euros.
Schulp Vruchtensappen produces organic fruit and vegetable juices, sold through specialty fresh food stores, including in Belgium. The company’s revenue has not been disclosed, but it is reported to be growing annually.
According to Korys, the investment aligns with its philosophy of supporting sustainable and conscious consumption. Both parties found common ground in their “shared vision of craftsmanship, sustainability, and respect for people and the environment, combined with the long-term perspective of both family businesses.”
