Belgian family-owned company Warsco has acquired German container specialist Bloedorn, marking a strategic expansion into the German market.
Warsco, which is based in Limburg, focuses on the production, sale and rental of modular units. Following the acquisition, the combined rental fleet will exceed 10,000 units and containers.
Warsco said demand for its modular units has been growing steadily in Germany, making the takeover a logical next step.
The deal strengthens the company’s local presence and embeds its production know-how and quality standards more firmly in the German market.
The 2 companies are considered complementary. Warsco is known for insulated modular buildings used in sectors such as education, industry and construction, while Bloedorn has a strong position in container solutions.
The combination broadens Warsco’s offering, particularly for large construction sites that require both storage and accommodation.
The move also has symbolic value for Warsco, which originally began as an importer of German units before starting its own production in 1979. With the third generation of the Warson family now involved in management, the company sees the acquisition as part of a long-term growth strategy.
Operationally, no immediate changes are planned, and both companies will continue to work with their existing teams.
