Ghent-based Corilus, the Belgian market leader in software for primary healthcare providers, has acquired its French counterpart Sofia Développement.

With the acquisition, the combined group will serve more than 70,000 healthcare professionals across Belgium and France.
Corilus says the deal will allow both companies to benefit from greater scale and complementary expertise, strengthening their role in the ongoing digitalisation of healthcare. France also represents a significantly larger growth market than Belgium.
Corilus provides software solutions to more than 47,000 users in Belgium, including doctors, pharmacists, dentists, physiotherapists, nurses and ophthalmologists. Sofia Développement develops software for French nurses, physiotherapists and speech therapists and is used by more than 38,000 healthcare professionals.
Corilus was formerly the software division of Fagron and is currently majority-owned by investment funds Rivean Capital and PSG Equity, which will remain the majority shareholders of the enlarged group.
Together, the two companies generate combined annual revenues of more than 120 million euros, positioning the group as a leading healthcare software player in both Belgium and France.
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
