Ghent-based BetterPic, profitable since launch, secures $2.5 million seed funding to scale AI-driven headshot and fashion photography.

Ghent startup BetterPic has raised $2.5 million in seed funding to accelerate its AI-driven photography products. The round was led by MOC Capital and Shilling VC, joined by leading figures from Europe’s tech and fashion industries.

Founded in 2024 by Ricardo Ghekiere and Miguel Rasero, BetterPic reached $3.2 million in annualized revenue within just 18 months—bootstrapped and profitable. The company has already generated more than 32 million professional images, serving clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 enterprises.

BetterPic’s ecosystem includes two offerings: BetterPic, which creates AI-generated headshots from a few selfies, and BetterStudio, which produces enterprise-grade AI fashion shoots. By combining AI with real models under the “BetterModels” label, the startup enables brands to generate high-quality, legally compliant digital twins—dramatically reducing production costs compared to traditional fashion shoots.

“We built BetterPic to be profitable from day one,” said Ghekiere. “Now, with this investment, we can scale our recurring B2B offerings while maintaining strong margins and customer success.”

Backers include Showpad founder Louis Jonckheere, Lighthouse’s Matthias Geeroms, Ravical’s Joris Van Der Gucht, AI agency Hyperson, and fashion veteran Severine Nijs, founder of Jackie Lee Modeling Agency.

According to Nijs, the technology does not replace models but expands access for brands and creators: “It allows fashion to operate more flexibly, from digital design to virtual campaigns.”

With consistent double-digit monthly growth, BetterPic positions itself as one of Europe’s fastest-rising AI challengers.
