Villeroy & Boch acquires the 75-year-old Belgian company Ideal Standard
The German bathroom accessories manufacturer Villeroy & Boch has completed the acquisition of sector peer Ideal Standard. All competition authorities have approved the deal. This makes Villeroy & Boch one of the largest bathroom products in Europe.
The 600 million euros transaction was announced in September of last year. Ideal Standard is a Belgian company founded in 1949. It is mainly active in Europe and South America.
Ideal Standard will be integrated as a separate part of the Villeroy & Boch Group. The head office of the new subsidiary will remain located in Brussels. Jan Peter Tewes will continue to lead the Ideal Standard activities.
