The acquisition marks a strategic expansion for Barco, positioning the company as a fully integrated provider of audiovisual solutions.
Barco has announced a definitive agreement to acquire 100 percent of VerVent Audio Holding (‘VerVent’), a Franco-British premium audio group renowned for its high-end audio systems, headphones, and automotive OEM audio solutions under the iconic brands Focal and Naim.
An Steegen, CEO of Barco, emphasized the significance of the deal: "This acquisition accelerates our ambition to shape the future of immersive audiovisual experiences. By welcoming VerVent and its iconic brands, Focal and Naim, into the Barco family, we are enhancing our ability to deliver seamless, integrated solutions where visual and audio technologies reinforce each other. This move strengthens our leadership in visualization technology and expands our reach in high-end residential, consumer entertainment, and professional markets."
VerVent, headquartered in Saint-Étienne, France, is a premium audio group with a strong legacy in designing and manufacturing high-end audio systems, including speakers, immersive audio solutions, headphones, studio monitors, and OEM solutions for automotive and yachting industries.
The company’s global retail and distribution network, featuring over 80 premium boutiques and thousands of sales points, provides a robust foundation for Barco’s go-to-market strategy. The premium audio market, valued at over 3 billion euros, is driven by trends such as immersive audio, active speakers, and integrated systems.
The acquisition, valued at approximately 135 million euros, is expected to be fully financed by Barco’s existing resources. VerVent, which generates annual revenues of around 110 million euros, will be integrated into Barco’s Entertainment division.
The deal aligns with Barco’s long-term goal of achieving a 15 percent EBITDA margin by 2028 and is anticipated to unlock synergies in the coming years. Completion of the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
