Ackermans & van Haaren (AvH) has agreed to invest 22 million euros in VKC Nuts Private Limited, a family-owned market leader in India’s fast-growing nuts and dried fruit sector.
The deal, expected to close in Q4 2025, will give AvH a 16.6 percent stake and a seat on the board.
Founded in 1926 and headquartered in Noida (near New Delhi), VKC Nuts operates six production sites across India and distributes through supermarkets, independent retailers, and e-commerce platforms under its Nutraj brand.
The company posted 160 million euros revenue in FY ending March 2025, with a product range spanning walnuts, almonds, cashews, dried fruits, seeds, and value-added snacks such as trail mixes and nut bars.
India’s nuts and dried fruit market is worth 6,5 billion euros, with the branded B2C segment growing at a 22 percent CAGR since 2020 and value-added products at 34 percent CAGR. AvH co-invests alongside Venturi Fund I, which contributes 19 million euros, bringing the total transaction size to 41 million. Through its 11.1 percent interest in Venturi Fund I, AvH’s total economic interest in VKC amounts to 18.2 percent.
Investment director Jens Van Nieuwenborgh said the partnership will support VKC’s growth strategy, highlighting Nutraj’s position as one of India’s most trusted healthy snack brands.
