Only one candidate investor has come forward so far…
Audi is facing difficulties in selling its factory in Brussels, with only one potential investor expressing interest. However, according to Belgian broadcaster VRT, neither Audi management nor labor unions view the bidder as a serious candidate.
While the identity of the interested party remains undisclosed, it is known to be a Belgian entity. One of their conditions reportedly includes Audi covering the factory’s restructuring costs for the next eight years. Despite this, the factory has granted the investor additional time to provide a detailed plan.
The Brussels factory is set to close in February. Audi approached 26 potential investors, with initial interest shown by some parties. However, no bids materialized by the beginning of the year.
