Wevelgem-based packaging group Asteria has reinforced its position as a European leader with two new acquisitions: Pro Print Group in the UK (26 million euros turnover) and Grupo Ezquerro in Spain (42 million euros turnover).

The deals push Asteria’s consolidated revenue beyond the 500 million euros mark, up from 453 million euros last year.

Founded as Accent Etiketten in 1985, the company has been transformed by CEO Ives Declerck into a 40-site, 2,300-employee group spanning Europe. Its product range covers everything from wine and cosmetics labels to anti-theft tags and airline baggage stickers.

Backed since 2019 by Waterland Private Equity, Asteria has pursued a fast-paced buy-and-build strategy, scaling from 20 million euros to 500 million euros turnover in just six years. Investors such as Marc Coucke and Filip Balcaen are among Waterland’s backers.

With Grupo Ezquerro added to its existing sites in Valencia and Galicia, Asteria now approaches a top-tier position in the Spanish market, further consolidating its European leadership.
