The fund aims to accelerate decarbonisation for European SMEs.

Argos Climate Action, a pioneering private equity fund from European investor Argos Wityu focused on decarbonisation, has closed its fundraising efforts at 337 million euros, surpassing its initial target by over 12 percent.

The fund’s oversubscription underscores strong investor confidence in its strategy to transform mid-sized European businesses into leaders in sustainability while driving economic performance.

Within just one year, Argos Climate Action has already invested in three companies across different sectors and countries: Italian transport and logistics firm Bracchi, French syrup manufacturer Groupe Routin, and German B2B textile rental provider Lavatio. This demonstrates the fund’s ability to tackle diverse decarbonisation challenges while tapping into market opportunities.

The fund’s innovative ‘grey-to-green’ buyout model focuses on measurable environmental impact, targeting at least a 7.5 percent annual reduction in CO2 intensity for portfolio companies. This approach has attracted a wide range of investors, including institutional players, sovereign funds, and family offices, many of whom are first-time investors with Argos.

Argos President Louis Godron highlights the significance of this milestone: “The success of our Argos Climate Action strategy proves that decarbonising the economy aligns with financial growth. Our first investments demonstrate the immense potential of transforming European SMEs into decarbonised market leaders.”

The fund’s success is supported by a dedicated team of private equity, transformation, and environmental transition experts, as well as a strong network of sustainability consultants and academic partners. By combining financial performance with actionable climate solutions, Argos Climate Action is shaping a competitive and sustainable future for European businesses.
