This move marks a significant milestone in Ardena’s strategic expansion into North America.

Ardena, a pharmaceutical Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) and bioanalytical Contract Research Organization (CRO), has announced the successful acquisition of Catalent’s drug product manufacturing facility in Somerset, New Jersey.

The newly acquired 50,000-square-foot facility specializes in advanced oral dosage forms, including modified-release formulations and Hot Melt Extrusion, and employs over 200 skilled scientists and technicians. It will enhance Ardena’s capabilities in late-stage and small-scale commercial manufacturing, reinforcing its global drug development services.

In addition to the acquisition, Ardena is expanding its Bioanalytical Services in North America with a new 2,500-square-foot bioanalytical lab at the Somerset site. Set to open by Q3 2025, the lab will provide advanced analytical testing for small and large molecules, supporting clinical trials with technologies such as immunochemistry, LC-MS/MS, flow cytometry, and qPCR.

“This acquisition reflects our commitment to supporting biopharma innovators at every stage of drug development”, says Jeremie Trochu, CEO of Ardena. “The Somerset facility strengthens our ability to provide tailored, high-quality solutions while accelerating our bioanalytical business internationally.”

By integrating drug manufacturing and bioanalytical services at a single North American site, Ardena aims to accelerate the development of transformative therapies, furthering its mission to help clients bring life-changing treatments to market efficiently.
