Gimv acquires The Spice Factory to fuel European expansion
Gimv has announced the acquisition of The Spice Factory (TSF), a leading provider of private label dried herbs and spices in the Benelux region.
The deal marks a significant step in TSF’s expansion strategy, as it looks to scale its operations and increase its presence across Europe.
Founded in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium, TSF has earned a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, customized spice solutions to retailers and foodservice providers. In addition to its private label expertise, the company also operates under the ISFI brand, offering a branded foodservice range. With Gimv’s backing, TSF plans to strengthen its market position and accelerate its international growth.
As part of the acquisition, Gimv has acquired a majority stake from Gilde Equity Management and Davy De Muyer. However, CEO Jorgen De Pelsmaeker and the management team will reinvest alongside Gimv, ensuring continuity in leadership and strategic direction.
David De Peuter and Laurens Boriale of Gimv’s Consumer team expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting TSF’s strong market differentiation and growth potential. CEO Jorgen De Pelsmaeker echoed this optimism, emphasizing TSF’s commitment to innovation and expansion through both organic growth and targeted acquisitions.
The transaction is set to close by the end of March 2025. Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
