Ardena expands U.S. presence with acquisition of Catalent’s advanced drug manufacturing facility.
Belgian pharmaceutical CDMO Ardena has signed an agreement to acquire Catalent’s state-of-the-art drug manufacturing facility in Somerset, New Jersey. This move significantly enhances Ardena’s capabilities in late-stage and small-scale commercial production of oral drugs, aligning with its strategy to become a leading global CDMO.
The FDA-approved facility employs 200 scientists and technicians and specializes in advanced oral dosage technologies, complementing Ardena's expertise in solid oral drugs. The acquisition also strengthens Ardena’s bioanalytical services in the U.S., positioning it to meet growing demand from pharmaceutical and biotech clients worldwide.
The transaction, supported by Ardena's private equity partner GHO Capital, is expected to close in early 2025, pending regulatory approval.
