Global aluminum packaging leader Ball Corporation has taken over the former Benepack plant in Genk and is immediately seeking more than 40 new employees, with further hiring planned throughout the year.
The company is recruiting technicians, supervisors, and electricians to support its operations. This move follows Ball’s recent acquisition of the site, which previously faced labor disputes, including strikes last summer over high workloads and unsafe working conditions.
In its first hiring wave, Ball Corporation is targeting production technicians, maintenance specialists, industrial electricians, and supervisors. While experience in packaging or manufacturing is considered a plus, the company emphasizes that it is not mandatory.
“We provide careers, not just jobs”, said Jeremie Lasnon, Regional Manufacturing Director at Ball. “Our training programs ensure that new employees, regardless of their background, are fully prepared for their roles.”
The expansion in Genk reflects Ball Corporation’s response to growing demand for sustainable aluminum packaging, driven by consumers and brands prioritizing eco-friendly solutions.
With 16,000 employees and 70 production sites worldwide, Ball is a market leader in recyclable packaging for beverages, personal care, and household products. “2025 was a strong year for us in Europe, and this investment in Genk directly addresses the increasing need for sustainable packaging”, the company stated.
