BiocSol secures 5.2 million euros to advance sustainable crop protection solutions.
Belgium-based BiocSol, a UCLouvain spin-off specializing in microbial-based crop protection, has raised 5.2 million euros in seed funding. Led by the Agri Investment Fund (AIF) and VIVES IUF, the round also included contributions from Invest.BW and IMBC Spinnova.
This funding marks the first phase of BiocSol’s 10 million euros fundraising target for 2024. The investment will enable BiocSol to expand its team, accelerate R&D, and initiate the regulatory processes for its innovative biofungicides, which target devastating pathogens like late blight in potatoes and downy mildew in grapes.
Early field trials have demonstrated strong results, underscoring the potential of BiocSol’s solutions to address growing agricultural challenges, including pathogen resistance and climate change.
