Ageas in Portugal expands activities into physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Grupo Ageas in Portugal has signed an agreement to acquire 100 percent of the share capital of OneStone. Onestone is the owner of a network of physical medicine and rehabilitation clinics operating under the name 'One Clinics'.

One Clinics is a reference in the Portuguese market, with a focus on improving the quality of life of people in need of rehabilitation care. The acquisition enables Ageas’ Portuguese entity to develop a more complete and integrated healthcare ecosystem. These activities are carried out under the name of their local brand 'Médis'.

The acquisition is in line with the strategic plan of the group, Impact24. Ageas wants to expand into the domain of healthcare and related services, among other things, where they see opportunities to create added value for the customer.

The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2024, pending approval from the Portuguese Competition Authority. No details are being released about the price paid for the acquisition.
