Academic Software expands in DACH region with acquisition of asknet GmbH.
In a significant move to strengthen its position in the European educational software market, Academic Software, part of the Signpost group, has acquired asknet GmbH, a market leader in Germany for academic software solutions.
This acquisition is set to bolster Academic Software's presence in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), the largest education market in Europe.
Asknet GmbH, formerly known as asknet Solutions AG, brings over 29 years of experience in providing software procurement services to educational and research institutions. With more than 80 percent of universities in the DACH region as clients, asknet offers top-tier software solutions tailored to the needs of the academic community.
Frederik Meheus, CEO of Academic Software, commented: "The integration of asknet, with its strong brand and expertise in the German-speaking education market, will help us achieve remarkable goals. Together, we aim to meet the evolving technology and software needs of our educational partners."
The acquisition aligns with Academic Software’s vision to innovate and enhance digital education across Europe, building on its existing collaborations with global technology leaders such as Microsoft, Google, Adobe, and IBM. The company will continue to operate under the established asknet brand in the DACH region.
This strategic move solidifies Academic Software's position as the European leader in digital education solutions, offering a comprehensive range of software, cloud integrations, and AI tools to support schools and universities worldwide.
