The French-Dutch Zenchef has acquired the Belgian Tablebooker.
The French-Dutch Zenchef has acquired the Belgian Tablebooker. Both companies offer systems for reservations in the catering industry. Tablebooker, acquired from the Resto Group, serves restaurants in five countries.
Zenchef merged with Formitable from Amsterdam more than a year ago. PSG Equity is the majority shareholder. In September last year, the merged organization took over the Dutch-Belgian online reservation platform Resengo.
With its second acquisition in six months, Zenchef is fulfilling its ambition to serve more than 35,000 restaurants in Europe by 2025. Zenchef currently has 19,000 customers in Europe.
This ambition must be realized through acquisitions in the fragmented market. After two takeovers in Belgium, there is only one competitor left: TableFever, founded in 2014.
In Europe, a battle is brewing between two giants in reservation tools. The Fork, part of Tripadvisor, is Zenchef's major competitor.
