Gent-based Tailormade Logistics (TML) is back in family hands after private-equity firm Kebek sold its stake to Malo Ventures, the investment vehicle of entrepreneurs Kelly De Dijcker and Pieter Balcaen.
Founded in 1996 by CEO Bert Vandecaveye, TML has grown from 10 million euros to nearly 200 million euros in revenue with the support of external investors, including KBC Arkiv Fund and Kebek.
Malo Ventures, which focuses on logistics and real estate, is led by De Dijcker and Balcaen, former co-CEOs of European Containers (ECS). Under their leadership, ECS transformed into a major international logistics group with 500 million euros in turnover before they sold their stake in 2022.
“For us, this feels like coming home to a sector where we can fully deploy our passion and ambition”, De Dijcker and Balcaen said, adding they aim to support TML’s growth strategy alongside its team.
Vandecaveye welcomed the transition, noting that the company is now positioned to continue its expansion under a family-driven shareholder structure.
