Syndicate One, the international network-driven investment firm, has successfully closed an oversubscribed 22 million euros fund to further accelerate its mission of backing exceptional Belgian tech talent.
The fund, which follows Syndicate One’s 6.5 million euros fund closed in late 2024, underscores the growing confidence in Belgium’s burgeoning tech ecosystem.
The new fund attracted a diverse group of 120+ investors, including leading startup founders, operators, and institutional backers such as Sofina, Finhouse, PMV, Wallonie Entreprendre, COI, and Finance&Invest Brussels.
Notably, many founders previously backed by Syndicate One have reinvested in the fund, reinforcing the firm’s unique model of fostering a self-sustaining ecosystem where today’s founders become tomorrow’s backers.
Syndicate One will use the capital to double down on early-stage Belgian startups and initiatives aimed at strengthening the local tech ecosystem.
Since its launch in 2022, the firm has invested in high-potential startups like Aikido Security, Techwolf, Conveo, and Sirona Technologies, two of which – Fundamental and Aikido Security – have already achieved unicorn status with valuations exceeding 1 billion dollars.
"Our 22 million euros fund is a strong signal that the Belgian tech ecosystem is maturing and compounding", said Laurens De Poorter, founder of Syndicate One. "We are doubling down on exceptional Belgian entrepreneurs, wherever they are in the world, and on the ecosystem initiatives that help them scale faster, think bigger, and build globally competitive companies from day one."
The firm will continue to support founders through expertise, connections, and initiatives like the Syndicate One Convertible, a standardized convertible loan agreement for early-stage financing, and the State of Belgian Tech Report, co-produced with Sofina, SFPIM, and Bain & Co.
