ViwateQ becomes part of Belgian holding company Sticomax.
Sticomax, the Belgian holding company behind several machine builders for the food industry, is acquiring ViwateQ, a Dutch specialist in the treatment of stainless steel.
ViwateQ developed a technology that can remove the oxide layer and unwanted contaminants from stainless steel and aluminum constructions without a pickling process. This leads to a microscopically smoother surface that can be cleaned faster and more efficiently and on which less food residues stick.
ViwateQ will operate as an independent part within Sticomax. The technology therefore becomes available to the broad market, including to competitors of the other companies in the group. The focus is mainly on the food industry, where the demand for hygienic, easy-to-clean surfaces is greatest.
