Belgian private equity fund Sofindev has acquired a majority stake in Dutch transport software specialist Euphoria Mobility to accelerate its European growth.

Belgian investment fund Sofindev has taken control of Euphoria Mobility, a Dutch provider of software solutions for passenger transport companies. Wealth manager Quaestor, company founder Leon Van Lier and the management team are also joining the deal.

Founded in 1993, Euphoria Mobility operates under the Cabman brand and generates around €14 million in revenue, mainly from recurring subscriptions. Its integrated platform supports planning, bookings, dispatching, trip registration and mobile data communication. The company serves some 1,300 clients, ranging from contract transporters and municipalities to police services and multinationals, collectively managing over 40,000 vehicles with its technology.

With Sofindev’s backing, Euphoria aims to accelerate its expansion across Europe. Until now, the company was largely owned by Dutch investor Plain Vanilla and Van Lier.

The acquisition aligns with Sofindev’s strategy of investing in software and telematics, following earlier stakes in Belgian firms Geodynamics and Merkator. It marks the eighth investment from the €250 million Sofindev VI fund, launched in early 2023.

The move also reflects the growing importance of the Dutch market for Sofindev, which now considers the Netherlands its second home base after Belgium.
