Belgian digital signage and smart office solutions leader Digitopia has welcomed Smile Invest as its majority shareholder, marking a key milestone in its growth strategy.

The partnership is expected to drive national and international expansion. Founder Jan Bussels and his experienced team remain actively involved and are co-investing in the transaction.

Under the new group name dgtgroup, the activities of Digitopia, Centomedia, Aviniti, and Thisplays2 will be consolidated.

The group aims to become a market leader in the Benelux and across Europe through a buy-and-build strategy. A key focus will be expanding Centoview, an advanced digital signage content management system (CMS) that helps businesses communicate effectively.

With a team of 45 experts, dgtgroup offers full-service digital signage solutions, including design, installation, financing, maintenance, content creation, and ICT integration. The company provides its services under a Digital Signage-as-a-Service (DaaS) model, ensuring scalable, high-quality, and tailor-made solutions for clients in various sectors.

Jan Bussels, CEO and founder of Digitopia, sees this step as a natural evolution: “This partnership aligns with our growth strategy and confirms the strength of our company and team. With Smile Invest’s expertise and international network, we can accelerate our ambitious plans.”

Smile Invest’s managing partners, Bart Cauberghe and Thomas Dewever, expressed their enthusiasm: “We are impressed by Digitopia’s strong track record and leadership. The company has built a solid reputation in technological innovation and customer service. We look forward to scaling dgtgroup further and welcoming new strategic partners.”
