Smartfin doubles down on Auditstage seed funding round

On 22 July 2026, AI-startup Auditstage announced that it has raised €2 million in a seed funding round led by Smartfin.

The proceeds raised through the seed funding round will go towards accelerating the Auditstage market launch, following a successful 2025 where the company proved its viability through extensive market research and the release of its first data exchange module.

Auditstage combines structured data, professional methodology and autonomous AI agents to address some of the financial auditing industry’s biggest challenges; such as fragmented legacy systems, manual handovers and repetitive work.

This is also what attracted Smartfin (and a number of business angels) as an investor during the platform’s pre-seed stage, raising €750,000. “We backed Natalia [Khamraeva] at the very beginning because her rare combination of deep audit expertise and technical ambition was clear,” says Smartfin managing partner Jürgen Ingels in a statement. “Our conviction has only grown, and we felt it was essential to double down as the company moves to capture this significant market opportunity.”

But while everyone was congratulating her on the milestone, the only thing Natalie felt was pressure to prove her “crazy” vision could come true. “So, in the past 60 weeks, we built deterministic engines for virtually every aspect of financial auditing,” she shares. “Now, we can turn those engines into a complex sequence of AI agents and ship an enterprise-grade version of what we believe is the most complete auditing software that has ever existed.”

With the €2 million investment, Auditstage will complete the final development of this end-to-end platform, enhance its infrastructure to support large-scale firm operations and commence the rollout to early-adopter firms.

“This would have not been possible without our biggest supporter, Jürgen, from whom I learned an incredible dose of entrepreneurship, who opened so many doors and who kept believing also when times were difficult,” Natalie explains, adding that she is equally excited to welcome Paul-Henri Boey and Frederic Pieters as angel investors. “They've followed our journey from the very beginning, long before this round, and I'm grateful to now have them officially on board.”

Auditstage expects to show the profession what it has been busy building by the start of the 2026-2027 busy season.
