Shiftbase, a leading European provider of workforce management software for businesses with variable schedules, has announced a strategic partnership with Fortino Capital.

The Belgian-Dutch private equity firm will become the majority investor, fueling Shiftbase’s next phase of growth: expanding its platform and strengthening its market position across Europe. Founders Kars Frijters and Jurrien Strobel will remain actively involved, with Frijters serving as CEO and Strobel taking on the role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

The partnership marks a significant step for Shiftbase, which has built its reputation on streamlining workforce administration for sectors like hospitality, retail, and services. By replacing manual processes with an integrated solution for scheduling, time tracking, and absence management, Shiftbase empowers organizations to focus on growth and core operations.

The company has already established a strong foothold in the Netherlands and Germany, and with Fortino’s backing, it aims to accelerate its European expansion – particularly in Germany – while further developing its AI-driven automation capabilities.

Fortino Capital, known for its investments in high-growth B2B software companies, highlighted Shiftbase’s scalable platform and compelling product roadmap as key factors in the partnership.

Ida Kuijken, Partner at Fortino Capital, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with Shiftbase’s leadership to drive innovation and market penetration. The deal underscores the growing appetite for strategic investments in SaaS platforms that address critical operational challenges, positioning Shiftbase as a potential consolidation player in the European workforce management sector.
