Belgian energy company EnergyVision has made its stock market debut on Euronext Brussels, becoming the first Belgian company to go public in four years. Founders Maarten Michielssens, Hassan Mourhit, and Koen Decourt rang the opening bell this morning at 9:00 a.m., officially launching the company’s IPO under the ticker symbol ENRGY.

Founded in 2014, EnergyVision has rapidly grown from a small enterprise with just five employees to a major integrated energy and mobility player with a workforce of over 200 people. The company focuses on building a smart, decentralized energy network using solar panels and EV charging stations.

As of March 31, 2025, it had 98.6 MWp of operational solar capacity and 2,280 public and semi-public charging points across Belgium, China, and Morocco—though its primary focus remains the domestic market.

“This is a historic day for EnergyVision”, according to CEO Maarten Michielssens. “Our IPO allows us to bring more people into the energy transition—not over their heads, but with them. We're proud that 37.5 percent of the newly issued shares were bought by retail investors, excluding institutional investors like MDM and Alychlo. This is a step toward making our energy mission more inclusive and future-focused.”

The IPO raised a gross total of 42.3 million euros, with 61,138,400 shares admitted to trading at an offering price of 9.50 euros, giving EnergyVision an initial market capitalization of 575 million euros.

Michielssens emphasizes the company’s long-term vision: “Like other Belgian success stories such as Argenx and VGP, we start at the lower end of the price range, but we’re committed to generating long-term value.”

Benoît van den Hove, CEO and Chairman of Euronext Brussels, welcomed the listing: “EnergyVision is a great example of Belgian entrepreneurship. This IPO shows how capital markets can accelerate Europe’s sustainable growth by supporting innovative companies in the energy transition.”
