Holmes, a new platform for autonomous software testing, has secured 1.1 million euros in pre-seed funding.
Founded by Robin Praet, Robbrecht Delrue, and Sofie Buyse – each with successful exit experience – the startup aims to revolutionize quality assurance (QA) as AI-generated code becomes the norm.
With 75 percent of new code at companies like Google now AI-generated, traditional QA processes struggle to keep up. Holmes addresses this by automatically learning how users interact with software and continuously testing those workflows, eliminating the need for manual test writing. This allows development teams to maintain speed without sacrificing reliability.
The funding round was led by Syndicate One, with participation from prominent Belgian tech figures, including Aikido’s founders, Showpad’s co-founder, and serial entrepreneur Thomas Van Overbeke.
Holmes also benefits from guidance by experienced tech leaders, such as Dieter Wachters (Collibra) and Haroen Vermylen (Luzmo).
“QA is critical but often overlooked”, said Sofie Buyse, Product Manager at Holmes. “Holmes removes the burden from developers and product managers, running tests continuously in the background, so bugs never reach users.”
The platform is designed for teams shipping software at AI speed, ensuring quality without slowing down innovation.
