ATB Therapeutics has announced the successful closure of a 54 million euros Series A funding round, bolstering its efforts to advance innovative therapeutic antibody development.
The round was co-led by EQT Life Sciences and MRL Ventures Fund (MRLV), the venture arm of Merck & Co., Inc., with additional backing from V-Bio Ventures, VIVES Partners, SFPIM, Wallonie Entreprendre, Sambrinvest, and existing investors.
The capital injection will propel ATB’s proprietary ATBioFarm platform into clinical development, enhancing its capacity to create novel oncology and immunology treatments.
The ATBioFarm platform uniquely integrates targeting and cytotoxic functionalities within single-step, scalable antibody production. This groundbreaking approach promises significant improvements in therapeutic efficacy and safety over traditional antibody-drug conjugates.

The investment also paves the way for ATB’s operational expansion in Ghent and the establishment of a pilot manufacturing facility in Marche-en-Famenne. Complementing this growth, ATB announced the appointment of industry veteran Mark Throsby as Executive Chairman. Throsby, former CSO of Merus and a key figure in the development of bispecific antibodies, praises the platform's capabilities: “The ATBioFarm platform’s ability to swiftly generate diverse, cytotoxic candidate molecules is a game-changer.
