Meet the new MD at Syntagma Capital: Paul Hoddé
Syntagma Capital promoted Paul Hoddé to managing director at the start of July 2026, following four years as a member of the operations team.
Since joining Syntagma Capital in 2022, Paul Hoddé has supported the firm’s portfolio companies through complex transformation programmes and strategic growth initiatives, including M&A activities. According to a statement by Syntagma, his promotion reflects his significant contributions during this time.
“I have known Paul for over 11 years. His leadership, operational expertise and commitment to our companies have made a meaningful impact across the portfolio,” said Syntagma founder and managing partner, Sébastien Le Moult, delighted that Paul is joining.
Based in Syntagma’s Luxembourg office, Paul will continue to lead operational transformation initiatives across the firm’s portfolio companies, working closely with management teams to drive performance improvement, operational excellence and sustainable value creation.
He will also continue to support the execution of acquisitions and carve-out transactions, leveraging his 20 years’ experience supervising the finance and operations of industrial companies in the automotive, aeronautical, chemical, metal, and mining sectors.
Prior to Syntagma, Paul worked at Cobham Aerospace Communication as a finance director. Before that, he was a general manager for EverZinc’s Asia region. From 2018 to 2018, he was a senior vice president at Opengate Capital, where he was responsible for integration and performance management, as well as for supporting M&A execution.
Paul, with an MBA in finance from ESSEC Business School in France, also held several financial leadership roles at companies such as Eferton Group in Switzerland, Valeo in Korea, and PT Weda Nickel in Malaysia.
He started his career in Eramet Comilog Manganese’s internal audit division in Gabon (in 2006) and worked his way up to business controller for Eramet Marietta in the United States (until 2011).
