Jan Wolfcarius’ new role at ING Belgium adds more relevance to M&A advisory

Jan Wolfcarius has been with ING Belgium throughout his career, starting as a trainee in September 1999 and working his way up through the ranks of the company. He spent three years in cash management advisory before gaining experience in local – and later, global – relationship management. This experience led to his appointment as sector head of technology, media and telecommunications in October 2008.

With a master’s degree in business engineering from KU Leuven, Jan has been involved in negotiating and managing acquisition financing solutions since 2015, both in his role as head of event finance and, currently, as head of structured acquisition finance for the Benelux region.

According to Jan, specialised products will encompass the existing Belgian M&A Midcorporate, Corporate Investments and Acquisition Finance teams, each of which will continue to operate autonomously.

“By bringing these teams closer to each other and to the broader ING Business Banking organisation, we have a clear ambition to further reinforce our voice in the boardroom of companies and their investors, when confronted with strategic challenges,” he says.

He explains that this transition will make the divisions more relevant in terms of strategic M&A advisory support, minority equity, subordinated debt, and buyout acquisition financing.
